More than anyone else, black celebrities are always under the radar of criminals. In recent years, home invasions and robberies involving high-profile stars have become more aggressive and public.
From bold break-ins to hostage-level threats, here are six insane robbery cases involving Black celebs that prove fame comes with a price:
Slim Thug’s Apartment Break-In
The Houston rapper Slim Thug became the latest name on a growing list of Black celebs hit by bold burglars. His apartment was broken into in April 2025 while he was out. The thieves took expensive jewelry, cash, and personal items.

Security found his door kicked open and the place torn apart. Thankfully, Slim Thug was not home at the time. No suspects have been caught yet. For now, the rapper’s biggest win is staying alive.
Quavo’s Yacht
You wouldn’t expect a robbery on a luxury yacht, but Black celebs like Quavo are not even safe at sea. While hosting a party in Miami, two guests flipped out and threatened the yacht’s captain. One even said he would kill him.
Then, they stole the captain’s wallet. Quavo ended up in cuffs while police sorted the mess. In the end, he was cleared of any charges.
Bun B’s House
Back in 2019, Bun B’s Houston home turned into a battleground. His wife opened the door, thinking it was a delivery. Instead, a masked man pushed his way in and held her at gunpoint.
The rapper heard her screams, grabbed his gun, and fired back. He hit the suspect, who later ended up in the hospital. Police identified him, and he was arrested. Bun B protected his family and showed that not every celeb is just gonna sit back and get robbed.
Marlon Wayans' Home
In June 2024, Marlon Wayans’ home was hit while his brother Keenen was inside. The break-in happened overnight, and Keenen heard glass breaking but reportedly fell back asleep.

The thief ran off with thousands of dollars and even took a safe. No one was hurt, but the ease of the crime left people scratching their heads.
Marlo Hampton’s Home Targeted in ATL
Reality star Marlo Hampton wasn’t spared either. In July 2022, her Atlanta mansion was the scene of another break-in tied to a larger wave of celebrity home invasions. This time, police had been watching the suspects and caught them in the act.
She wasn’t home, but caught the men on her security cam. They knocked on her door and looked ready to storm in. Four suspects were later arrested. Hampton said she was “shaken,” and who wouldn’t be? It is one thing to get robbed. And it is another to watch it happen live.
There is no doubt that black celebrities live big. But that spotlight comes with shadows. These stories show that it is not just about flashy lifestyles or being in the wrong place. It is the fact that fame turns your home, your yacht, even your front door into a target.
