This relationship with James Packer ended with Mariah Carey walking away not just with her pride, but some serious compensation, as reports say she received between $5 million and $10 million. She even kept that legendary 35-carat diamond ring. Mariah and James first locked eyes in 2014 at an Aspen premiere, went public in mid‑2015, and were engaged by January 2016.
Sadly, the couple split while on a rocky yacht vacation in Greece later that year, in October. Mariah then joked about how the rock was “so heavy I can’t lift my arm up!” She reportedly sued for a $50 million “inconvenience fee” but settled for a lower amount.
