Before Hollywood paydays, there was a dental office where a future Oscar winner, Mel Gibson, fell for a dental nurse, Robyn Moore. These two met in the late 1970s, long before “Mad Max” and “Braveheart” turned him into a global star. They married in 1980, building a 28-year marriage and raising seven children along the way.
Robyn has never spoken publicly about the split, keeping her post-divorce life impressively low-key. It went down in 2006, when cracks appeared amid reports of personal struggles and infidelity. She filed for divorce in 2009, which was finalized in 2011. It came with a $425 million settlement, one of the largest in celebrity history.
