Would You Drive These Disasters? The 45 Worst Cars of All Time
Davis D-2 Divan Was a Three-Wheeled Scam
The 1947 Davis “D-2 Divan” was supposed to be the car of the future—except the future never came. This bizarre three-wheeler had a sleek, aircraft-inspired aluminum body, a bench seat for four, and promises of speed and efficiency. But in reality? It was slow, unstable, and about as reliable as a con artist’s handshake.
The single front wheel made handling a complete gamble—turn too hard, and you might just tip over. The 63-horsepower engine barely moved its oversized body, and the supposed 116 miles per hour top speed was pure fiction. Only 13 “Divans” were ever built, proving that not all futuristic ideas deserve to hit the road.
