Would You Drive These Disasters? The 45 Worst Cars of All Time
Morgan Plus 8 Overheated and Oversteered
The 1968 Morgan “Plus 8” looked like it drove straight out of the 1930s—because, in many ways, it did. This hand-built British roadster had a powerful Rover V8, which sounded awesome until you realized the car’s frame was a relic from another century.
The sliding pillar suspension—a design from 1911—made handling a wild guessing game, especially at high speeds. Then came the overheating. That tiny engine bay meant the Plus 8 cooked itself in traffic, and good luck fixing anything electrical—because British wiring in the 1960s was an adventure in itself. Sure, the car had charm, but it also had questionable build quality and a harsh ride.
