The Chevy “Vega” was supposed to be America’s answer to Japanese compacts, but instead, it became a rolling disaster. Its aluminum engine sounded high-tech until it warped, cracked, and drank oil like a thirsty camel. Overheating issues were so common that many “Vegas” died an early, smoky death.
