Would You Drive These Disasters? The 45 Worst Cars of All Time
PT Cruiser Was a Retro Mistake
The Chrysler “PT Cruiser” looked like a gangster car from the 1930s but drove like a minivan from the 1990s. Chrysler wanted to make retro cool, but instead, they made retro slow, clunky, and frustrating. The 2.4L engine wheezed out 150 horsepower, making acceleration an exercise in patience. Fuel economy? It’s worse than some SUVs.
Then came the interior, which was a plastic-filled nightmare with a dashboard that looked like it belonged in a kid’s toy car. Owners complained about overheating problems, electrical failures, and transmissions that gave up too soon. By 2010, Chrysler pulled the plug, and not a single tear was shed.
