Would You Drive These Disasters? The 45 Worst Cars of All Time
Chevy SSR Looked Fast But Wasn’t
The 2004 Chevy “SSR” looked like something straight out of a comic book—part retro pickup, part convertible, and 100% confusing. Chevy called it the Super Sport Roadster, but “Super Slow Ride” might have been a better fit. This thing had a 5.3L V8 under the hood, but thanks to its 4,700-pound weight, it moved like a sleepy turtle.
It had the coolest party trick—a retractable hardtop—but that wasn’t enough to make up for the sluggish performance and sky-high price of $42K. People just didn’t know what to do with it. A muscle truck? A roadster? A collector’s item? Nobody bought it, and Chevy pulled the plug by 2006.
