Mark had been dodging his wife Patricia’s requests for a pool in the garden for five years. He had promised to do it when they bought their house but had continually put it off, mostly because he didn’t want to deal with the effort. This summer, though, they weren’t going on vacation, and Mark found himself with an unexpected surplus of time.
Figuring it was now or never, he set a goal to finish the pool within three weeks. Optimistic and a little reluctant, he started digging, not knowing he was about to unearth more than just soil. Soon, Mark would face challenges that he couldn’t possibly resolve on his own.
