Ann Blyth – Born in 1928

Ann Blyth began acting in the early 1940s, playing minor roles in films such as “Chip Off the Old Block” in 1944 and “The Merry Monahans” the following year. Her big break came in 1945 when she was cast as Veda Pierce, a spoiled and cunning young woman, in the film “Mildred Pierce.”

Her outstanding performance earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, catapulting her to Hollywood stardom. She was also honored with two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. After marrying a doctor in 1953, she decided to give up acting to raise her five children.
