Life on Mars? Check Out NASA’s Most Convincing Evidence Yet
Hidden Lake Found
In 2018, a groundbreaking discovery sent shockwaves through the scientific community. Discovered beneath the icy surface of Mars was a vast lake of water. For years, we had known that parts of the Martian surface were frozen, occasionally thawing as temperatures rose. But this was different.
Using an orbiting penetration radar, scientists detected the lake beneath Mars’ south pole, concealed under layers of ice. This subterranean lake, dubbed “Lake Mars,” is believed to be extremely cold and saturated with salts, casting doubt on its ability to support life. Yet, the very presence of liquid on the Red Planet stirred imaginations and raised thrilling possibilities.
