Mel Brooks is a multi-talented American actor, comedian, filmmaker, songwriter, and playwright. He has been in the entertainment industry for over seven decades and is well-known as a writer and director for his successful broad farces and parodies.
Mel is one of only 18 entertainers to have received the EGOT, which consists of an Emmy, a Grammy, an Academy Award, and a Tony Award. He began his career at 14 and rose to prominence as a writer for the seminal television show “Your Show of Shows” in the early 1950s. His directing career began in the 1970s, and his writing and directing have been extremely successful.
