Sandie Shaw – Born in 1947
Sandie Shaw burst onto the scene from Dagenham, England, sweeping the 1960s with her barefoot performances and striking voice. Born as Sandra Ann Goodrich, she rocketed to fame with her debut single, “Always Something There to Remind Me,” laying down the tracks of her stardom.
But it was in 1967 that Sandie truly captivated the world, clinching the Eurovision Song Contest with “Puppet on a String.” This victory not only immortalized her in the Music Hall of Fame but also made her the UK’s first Eurovision winner. Her flair for fashion and distinctive voice made her a household name, marking the 1960s and 1970s as Sandie’s golden era.
