Remember These Hollywood Legends? You’ll Never Guess What They’re Up To Now!
John Amos – Born in 1939
John Amos wasn’t exactly born under Hollywood spotlights. This man of many talents played college football, tackled social work, and even dabbled in stand-up comedy before landing his big break in 1970. On “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” he brought the funny as Gordy, the weatherman with a knack for witty banter.
But it was 1977 that truly cemented John’s place in TV history. He brought the powerful Kunta Kinte in “Roots” to life with such depth and power that it earned him an Emmy nomination. He kept audiences glued to the screen with roles in “Coming to America” and “The West Wing,” proving his range and talent.
